Also known as Yellow Trumpet Bush, the Yellow Elder is a tropical flowering bushy shrub that is often used as an ornamental throughout southern Florida and the Caribbean. It is a low maintenance bush that gives your garden a burst of color throughout the year. The Ixora family is a family of flowering shrubs native to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Ixoras are generally grown as a mid to low lying shrub, and is sought out for its heavy flowering (red/yellow/pink). Although there are roughly 500 species of Ixora the most common that are grown as ornamentals are the ‘Maui’, ‘Dwarf’, ‘Super King’ and ‘Chinese Ixora’.

There are over 300 varieties of Bougainvillea around the world ranging in colors and growing habits (bush or vine). Some of the more common ones here in the Turks and Caicos are the ‘New River’, ‘Barbara Karst’, ‘Imperial White’, ‘Coral’ and ‘Jamaican White’.
